February 1, 2021

Umbrella Training has today announced a new partnership with 90’s fitness sensation and wellbeing guru, Mr Motivator, to kickstart a series of activities aiming to support the mental and physical wellbeing of its apprentices, business partners and the wider industry.

The series, titled ‘No More Banana Bread’, will run throughout Lockdown 3.0 via the company’s social media channels, and will include a short weekly exercise class with Mr Motivator, also known as Derrick Errol Evans MBE.

As well as the weekly motivational sessions, the 12-week series will address various topics and themes such as Equality, Diversity & Communities, Employment & Transferable Skills and Wellbeing & Mental Health through live interviews, blogs and virtual roundtable discussions.

Content will range from online insight sessions, workshops with business leaders, and conversations with experts and apprentices. Leaders set to take part include Dr. Hilary Cooke, Rachel Begbie, Lorraine Copes, Harry Murray and Sally Beck.

Mr Motivator will be hosting his online sessions every Monday at 10am from 1st February on Umbrella Training’s IGTV channel, and a recording will be available on the company’s YouTube channel following the broadcast.

Umbrella Training CEO Adele C Oxberry FIH

Adele Oxberry, founder, Umbrella Training, said: “The third lockdown has really taken it toll on the physical and mental well-being of so many people.

“We wanted to give people a fun, interactive and insightful series of events and activities to look forward to.

“Mr Motivator is exactly the sort of person who puts a smile on people’s faces, whilst offering some useful tips and insight on how to look after your wellbeing.

“The content is open to everybody, whether you’re an industry professional, a budding apprentice, school leaver or current learner there is content planned to appeal to people of all ages and levels.

“We’re really looking forward to everything we have in store over the next three months.”

Mr Motivator added: “I’m really pleased to be working with the Umbrella team and, together, I hope we can play our part in bringing some light relief to the hospitality industry over the coming weeks.

“The pandemic has really highlighted how important it is for us to look after our personal fitness, and general health and well-being, so we hope these weekly taster sessions will prove useful during what is a challenging time for so many people.”
