As the death toll from Covid-19 in the UK passes 100,000 we remember all of the hospitality people within that group.
There is no data available that would point precisely to how many people in hospitality have died, but an estimate is simple.
The latest UK population figure is 67,886,011, and the best estimation of how many people work directly in hospitality is circa 3,000,000. If 4.5% of the population works in hospitality that equates to around 4,500 deaths in our industry.
So, today we remember those 4,500 hospitality people that have lost their lives to Covid-19.
Rest in Peace
