Hospitality Closed Heathrow Open

April 18, 2020

Hospitality Closed Heathrow Open – 15,000 visitors a day flying into Heathrow

Hospitality Closed Heathrow Open – The Government’s decision to close restaurants and almost every other hospitality outlet in the UK was implemented overnight. It is easily understood as a measure to limit the spread of Covid-19.  Heathrow Airport remaining open to 15,000 international daily arrivals is extremely difficult to understand.

Devoid of Science

The Government constantly assures us all on scientific grounds.

The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, was recently interviewed by Piers Morgan.

Morgan asked why Heathrow’s daily influx of 15,000 people is allowed.

Matt Hancock had no answers, Scientific or otherwise.

We found the video below on twitter, in it Matt Hancock is completely lost for words, and Morgan lets him away with nothing.

The tweet is embedded so can be watched and listened to by clicking on it

This is my exchange with ⁦@MattHancock⁩ in which I ask him why UK airports remain open. It makes no sense to me – and I’m not sure from his response that it does to him either. 👇 pic.twitter.com/vYofNlm5lq

So, while Piers Morgan for many is Marmite, his questions are pertinent, and the lack of any answers from Matt Hancock is stark.

Hospitality employs 3.3 million people in the UK, the vast majority are currently at home saving lives.

Many will be looking at businesses that are their very livelihood, currently at best in a state of hibernation. Many of these businesses won’t be emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic but remain steadfast in following Government policy.

Cheltenham Lookalike

Post crisis – Hospitality Closed Heathrow Open – leaving Heathrow open will sit alongside allowing the Cheltenham Festival to go ahead.

Post Covid-19 Questions

There are many such questions that will be asked of the Government post Covid-19.

How the Government and Banks of Switzerland were able to do so much more, so much faster than their counterparts in the UK is one. Take a look here, the numbers are truly astonishing.
