The current situation around the COVID-19 pandemic means that countless people still working in hospitality and those that are not, face isolation at home. Having to face this situation is alien for many and can cause loneliness and anxiety.
Inspired by a memory we have decided to set up a coffee morning on Facebook to bring people together to share what they are experiencing with others facing similar circumstances.
The Memory: Years ago, every Friday morning a small group of women started their own coffee morning on our Facebook page. At first, we had no idea what was going on.
Watching carefully we realised it was a group of friends separated by geography who chatted about what was going on with them, each with their own coffee at home, through commenting on a post they created on our Facebook page.
It was intriguing to observe, and the conversations were happy ones, mostly sharing life’s comings and goings.
It carried on for quite a while and then stopped as suddenly as it sprung up.
So, that memory has inspired us to offer anyone and everyone that would like to join a similar coffee morning starting this coming Friday, 20th March to join us at 10.30 am.
We have already created the post, as you can see here pinned to the top of the page, you can start posting comments now letting people know you are joining in, we look forward to welcoming you on Friday. Oh, and please tell your friends they are welcome too.
If you are wondering what to ‘chat’ about we are hoping the focus will be camaraderie and inspiration. It can be pretty much anything, what you are experiencing, what you are concerned about, what made you happy, what you are grateful for.
