Selina, the UK Latin-American start-up, has opened its second UK hotel, SELINA BIRMINGHAM in the heart of the Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Opening next month, the property features 39 uniquely designed private rooms, suites and shared rooms.
Selina’s first UK opening was only a few months ago in Manchester – Selina, from remote jungles to UK launch in Manchester.
Selina’s Head of Country UK, Erwin de Jong Oliveira said “We’re thrilled to bring our concept to one of the most exciting cities in the UK, and in such a thriving neighbourhood. We wanted to blend Selina’s Latin-American roots with local talent, history and culture and we are excited to open our doors and provide a new hub for the community.”
Rooms are designed to reflect Birmingham’s creative spirit, interior designer Lorna Keller worked closely with local artists and the community to source artwork and materials that represent and embrace the local talent of Birmingham. Each of the 39 rooms has been given a quirky Latin-American twist, offering something new and unique to the accommodation sector in the city.
With 132 beds in total in a range of categories including an airy loft, a suite, standard and micro-sized double rooms and community shared rooms for between three to fourteen guests – including a female-only option – prices start from £15 – £100 per person/per night, depending on the room category chosen.
The new hotel features social spaces in each of its properties where Selina will host specially curated weekly programming, engaging workshops and unique pop-ups throughout the year.
