Lunar Pub Company co-founded by Hubert Beatson-Hird and Chef Oliver Marlowe in 2019, will open its first site The Hunter’s Moon, in Chelsea this September. Located on Fulham Road, the site is split between a 25-cover pub, complete with low seating armchairs and library corner, and a 48-cover dining room at the back.
The interiors will be rustic-chic, featuring oak and vintage tile flooring, textured walls and ceilings, aged leather seating, pendant lighting above a zinc topped bar, and antique mirrors. A colour palette of autumnal hues, from dark greens and inky blues to burnt umbers and deep mustards, checked wool, patterned fabrics and velvet complete the space. Key design features include horseshoe booths, skylights, a vintage AGA in the dining room, a caged wine display and downstairs a semi open kitchen sits alongside bathrooms with hand painted mural ceilings.
Trading seven days a week for lunch and dinner, including Saturday brunch and Sunday roasts, The Hunter’s Moon will offer a modern European menu with dishes created by Marlowe, who has previously held Executive Chef positions at a number of pub groups as well as Michelin-starred The Glasshouse and Chez Bruce. David Halewood (The Coach, Clerkenwell) has been appointed as Head Chef.
The dining room will serve a daily changing menu with signature dishes such as scallop ceviche with whipped avocado, pickled ginger and truffled ponzu; slow roast suckling pork belly with apple tarte fine, Morteau sausage, choucroute and Madeira sauce; and blackberry and custard pavlova with pink praline crunch. The front pub area will offer a more casual menu, with choices including gourmet scotch eggs and sausage rolls, as well as courgette and ricotta croquettes, Mersea oysters and hung British charcuterie. A blackboard will champion a range of meat cuts and daily specials, whilst an extensive wine list sits alongside premium spirits, lagers and real ales.

Lunar Pub Company plans to open two further sites within the next two years.
