Accor UK & Ireland has launched Safety Assess, believed to be the first app-based health and safety self-certification tool in the UK and Ireland hospitality industry.
The app is designed to save hotel owners time in the management of their administration and ensuring they maintain a consistently safe environment for guests, remaining compliant to all health and safety regulations. It has been rolled out across Accor’s UK & Ire franchised network of 116 properties.
The app gives users a visual snapshot of their compliance status to all appropriate regulations as well as a document control area for storing and managing all the required documentation.
It is the latest in a broad suite of technology developed by Accor to help owners manage their hotels more effectively, including the mobile operating system already introduced in much of its UK and Ireland network that enables employees to welcome and help guests and manage their schedules from an app on their smartphones.
Cristina De Oliveira Frewen, Senior Vice President Franchise Hotels, Accor Northern Europe, explained: “Providing a safe and consistent environment is at the heart of our promise to guests and this tool helps us to maintain this. The app will help our partners to uphold safety standards with even greater efficiency, allowing them to maintain high levels of compliance, helping them organise themselves while still ensuring their own protection.
“This is another example of how we are continuously innovating to help our partners manage their hotels more effectively and profitably, as well as to improve guests’ experience.”
