Bartlett Mitchell launches app to enhance internal communications

September 28, 2018

Bartlett Mitchell, one of the UK’s leading independent caterers, has introduced #BMfamily – a new mobile communication and messaging app – to the business, enabling on-the-go communication between colleagues.

The app, which is designed to be GDPR-compliant, will provide a secure online platform for more than 900 Bartlett Mitchell team members to share information through an Instagram-style news feed as well as GDPR compliant one-to-one and group chats.

Other key features of the app include a mobile team directory, video and photo sharing, flash polling and a mute function that allows staff to snooze notifications until their next shift.

It will also give every team member the opportunity to have direct communication with the founders of the business as well as other colleagues and senior management. Bartlett Mitchell see it as a new way to support training and development by sharing best practice. The tool also allows team members to influence the company by contributing their own ideas.

#BMfamily will be integrated into the induction of all new team members and replace the company’s existing ‘Snippets’ newsletter as the primary source of company communications to maintain the close-knit and personal foundations upon which Bartlett Mitchell has built its success.

Wendy Bartlett, executive chairman and founder, at Bartlett Mitchell, said: “Our business has gone from strength to strength, achieving fantasic growth for the last seven years. But we could not have done it without the commitment and passion of our incredible teams.

“For us, it’s really important to continually invest in ground breaking technology to maintain our ability to keep a close relationship with all of our team members in a safe & secure way and, as we continue to grow, we need to ensure that we are making the most of technology to help us do this.”
