17 top female licensees from the Midlands and East Anglia were treated to a celebratory spa day by Star Pubs & Bars at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa, Sutton Coldfield in recognition of their hard work and success in creating outstanding pubs in a historically male dominated industry.
When asked what they loved about the pub industry, job satisfaction was a common theme with comments like ‘exciting – something different every day’, ‘love seeing my customers happy – makes me enjoy day’, ‘passing my knowledge of the pub and locals to staff and next generation’ and ‘running charity events for my local community and raising money for good causes that locals support’ cited.
Star Pubs & Bars Business Development Manager Jacqueline Frow commented: “It was great to offer something different to the usual golfing or sports events and to give these fantastic female operators some real pampering as they are always looking after others. The ladies enjoyed treatments, a sumptuous lunch, and a relaxing dinner at the end of the day to toast their achievements. Endless stories and laughter were shared. The idea for the day came from my ROD, Paul Linton. It was a great success so will be something we do again.”
The licensees attending were from: The Cricketers (Worcester), The Bull (Birmingham), Royal Oak (Erdington), The Fox (Birmingham), Lady Westminster (Birmingham), The Railway (Studley), The Bell (Studley), New Chequers (Worcester), Bulls Head (Birmingham), Royal Oak (Alcester), The Safe Harbour (Birmingham), The Highbury (Birmingham) and The Patrick Kavanagh (Moseley).
