TUCO has made three new strategic appointments to its board to replace retiring directors Helen Anzani and Shona Miller.
Kelly Hart from Queens University Belfast, Ian White from University of Chester (pictured right) and Calum Maclachlan from University of Aberdeen have joined the TUCO board to bring a fresh perspective to the organisation.

I am confident they will bring a diverse range of skills and knowledge from across the TUCO regions of North West, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These three industry professionals will strengthen the board with their individual expertise.”
Kelly Hart (pictured left) is Campus Food and Drink Manager at Queens University in Belfast. In 2016 Hart was part of the team that launched Queens University’s initiative to promote local food producers as part of Northern Ireland’s year of food and drink. Hart will bring expertise to the board with her years of experience and knowledge of the industry.
Hart said: “I am both excited and nervous to be joining the board, there is a lot of responsibility involved in the appointment. I hope that I can contribute in a positive manner that benefits everyone involved in the TUCO family. With almost 20 years industry experience, I hope to use my knowledge and experience to improve the TUCO experience for everyone. For me personally, this is a great new challenge and I am looking forward to taking on the task.”
Ian White is Domestic Bursar and Executive Director in hospitality and residential services at University of Chester. In 2016, White and his team celebrated first place in the food and drink category in the higher education sector’s Green Gown Awards.
His team was recognised for its wide range of environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Ian White, University of Chester said: “I am very excited, honoured and privileged to be asked to join the TUCO Board and to work with some of the top professionals within the university sector. I will be bringing fresh thinking and new perspectives to the strategic work of the board.”
Calum MacLachlan (pictured right) is Head of Commercial Services within Campus Services. In 2017 MacLachlan was awarded Business Manager of the Year at the prestigious CUBO Awards. His leadership skills and experience within campus services will bring inspiration to the Board.
TUCO are committed to advancing the learning and developing of catering and hospitality teams. In addition, with their procurement service their dedicated team work hard to get members the best deal using the TUCO frameworks. The non-executive directors have been appointed to support this.
