The new General Manager at Solberge Hall wants to continue the good work of his predecessor in enhancing the hotel’s ties with the local community.
Dale Needham has been General Manager at a number of hotels in the Yorkshire during his career. He spent two and a half years at the Lazaat in Cottingham, prior to that he oversaw the rebrand and relaunch of the Darlington Kings hotel following a serious fire. And previously he was at the Novotel in Bradford for three and a half years where he refurbished and relaunched the hotel into a new generation for Campanile.
“Solberge Hall is a fabulous venue for all visitors – whether that’s those that just want to pop in for a beer or an afternoon tea, or those that want to have dinner and stay over – there is something for everyone here.”
Dale is keen to build upon the good work of the previous general manager who had been at the hotel near Northallerton since Classic Lodges bought the property in August 2015.
“Since I joined a few weeks ago we have arranged some barbecues for the summer that I hope many locals will come along to,” he says. “We’ve also extended the Christmas party period – so those that are busy with work and family can enjoy some down time in November before the real festivities begin and continue the festive spirit into January so not to feel too sad that the season is coming to an end!”
Managing Director of Classic Lodges, Richard Grime says Dale has already had a big impact since he joined a few weeks ago: “Dale is one of those general managers that wants to roll up his sleeves and get involved straight away. The team are feeling re-energised and focused, and we are seeing an increase in the number of people showing an interest in Solberge as a wedding venue and conference and event venue too.”
