Award-winning Thai sauce company, The Coconut Kitchen (CK Food and Drinks Ltd), that make all their products in Wales, will take to the stage at The Innovation Den during H&C EXPO on the 17 and 18 July to wow buying teams with their Thai delights.
The company will be showcasing their Thai sauces, pastes and curry pastes along with Banana Joe chips to buying teams from leading hospitality and catering businesses with budget to spend on new contacts. The buying teams, which will include colleagues from marketing, sales and operations, will be looking for the most innovative food and drink products to list.
Paul Withington Co-owner and Sales and Marketing Director for The Coconut Kitchen said,
“We are so pleased to be through to present at the Innovation Den. We have two brands that we feel are perfect for the hospitality and catering market. The Coconut Kitchen has come a long way since myself and Head Chef Preechaya started cooking delicious Thai food out of our 12 x 7 ft food truck in 2006! When we moved into our own restaurant in Abersoch we won “Best Oriental Restaurant in Wales” award, two years running. On the back of the restaurant success we started selling our sauces and pastes through retail and have won seven Great Taste Awards along the way. We feel confident that we produce the best Thai food and we also know the catering market having worked in it ourselves for 12 years. Now the time feels right to launch into the food service space and to take the incredible flavours that Preechaya brings to Thai dishes to the wider market.”
As well as their delicious sauces, Paul and the team at The Coconut Kitchen hope that the buyer teams will also love their other Thai product, Banana Joe banana chips.
“One of the benefits of being in the Thai food business is that you must travel to Thailand for research and inspiration,” said Paul. “It was on a trip last year that we discovered the amazing Banana Joe. The Banana chip brand was launched five years ago, is sold in 20 countries globally and we are now the only UK importers. They’re a perfect addition to the healthy snacking market being gluten free, vegan and, best of all, they are wafer thin and taste great. All are seasoned with natural flavourings for the three savoury varieties, Sea Salt, Hickory BBQ and Sweet Chilli. Once tasted they are never forgotten!”
Mark Harris, Event Director, H&C EXPO was delighted to welcome The Coconut Kitchen saying,
“We created the Innovation Den to facilitate live buying and selling in action at H&C EXPO for visitors to see how procurement teams work and how new products are selected to take to market. Adding a potential contract being available from some of the biggest names in our industry raises the tempo for all.”
