Borthwick Castle appoints luxury specialist Amy Cullen as Sales and Events Manager

July 7, 2018

Amy Cullen, Sales and Events Manager, Borthwick Castle

Borthwick Castle, Scotland’s finest fifteenth century keep and one of the most magnificent exclusive hire locations in the UK, has appointed Amy Cullen as Sales and Events Manager with immediate effect. Based at the castle and reporting to General Manager, Johanne Falconer, Cullen brings over a decade of industry experience to the role, with a background in events, weddings and customer service.

Cullen joins the castle team from a management role at Carberry Tower Mansion House and Estate near Edinburgh, where she oversaw three deluxe venues, rich with royal heritage. She is now responsible for developing and delivering high-end events at Borthwick Castle, from bespoke weddings and family gatherings to corporate retreats and business meetings.

Borthwick Castle General Manager, Johanne Falconer said: “We’re carving a luxury niche for Borthwick Castle whilst retaining its exclusivity and authenticity.  Our quintessential Scottish flair and style, complemented by our proximity to Edinburgh, means we’re an ideal venue for guests seeking city or country escapes in a majestic setting. Amy honed her event management skills at one of Scotland’s grandest hotels and possesses an inspirational passion for detail that will ensure our guests enjoy a seamless experience of the highest standard.”

Cullen said: “Joining Borthwick Castle at this exciting time, as the executive team expands and the venue continues to raise its global profile, offers me the opportunity to create truly memorable and quintessentially Scottish events for our corporate and private guests.”

Borthwick Castle is an exclusive hire venue just 30 minutes from the Scottish capital offering stunning countryside surroundings, opulent public rooms and sumptuous accommodation in 12 luxurious bedchambers. With rich historical connections to Mary, Queen of Scots and other luminaries including Sir Walter Scott and Oliver Cromwell, the castle – which has recently opened following an extensive refurbishment – provides an evocative luxury location.
