Vegan dining concept when Polly met Fergie to debut at Queensgate

June 29, 2018

Following the rapid rise of veganism across the UK, Lendlease and Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment manager, have today announced that a brand new vegan restaurant concept, When Polly Met Fergie, is to open a UK debut site at Queensgate, Peterborough.

The 1,500 sq ft café style restaurant, due to open in mid August, will offer delicious plant-based cuisine with a focus on sustainable, healthy produce including freshly made pasta and sauces made daily. Inspired by the founder’s personal embrace of a vegan lifestyle, when Polly Met Fergie will be located on the Westgate Arcade, the go-to destination in Peterborough for unique, independent retailers. The 40 cover café style restaurant will provide an entirely vegan plant-based menu, in a relaxed and welcoming and bright setting including casual dining alongside a relaxed cocktail lounge jazz bar.

When Polly Met Fergie will cater to the growing demand for vegan and healthy food from British consumers, further adding to Queensgate’s strong existing line-up of restaurant brands including Turtle Bay and Pret A Manger.

Commenting on the news, Guy Thomas, Head of Retail at Lendlease, said: “Veganism has been dubbed as one of the UK’s fastest growing lifestyle trends, making When Polly Met Fergie a timely and exciting addition to Queensgate’s Westgate Arcade.  We are always keen to welcome local and independent businesses that complement Queensgate’s established retail line-up, and we look forward to welcoming our first ever dedicated vegan operator making its UK debut and extending our dining offer from morning through to the early evening.”

Alastair Norwell, Founder and Owner of When Polly Met Fergie, added: “Westgate Arcade is a thriving destination within the region’s leading shopping centre, Queensgate.  We look forward to sharing our passion for delicious vegan food at our debut restaurant in Peterborough, whilst adding a new dimension to its culinary scene and allowing people to try something new.”

In the last 12 months, Queensgate has also welcomed a string of new store signings and upsizes including Joules, Smiggle, Pandora, New Look, Anne Summers, Yankee Candle and Sharps Bedrooms.
