Seasoned in the (Leander) pink for 200th anniversary

June 28, 2018

Leading event caterer, Seasoned, once again serves as the exclusive hospitality caterer for Leander Club during Henley Royal Regatta, as the prestigious rowing club gears up for an extra special regatta in its bicentennial year.

One of the oldest rowing clubs in the world, Leander Club based in Henley-on-Thames, is also recognised as the most successful Olympic sports club in the world with a global membership of around 3,600 people including HM Queen Elizabeth II (Patron) and Honorary Members such as Sir Steve Redgrave CBE and Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE.

Seasoned is once again crafting a delectable menu for the club during Henley Royal Regatta, the summer’s highly anticipated sporting and social calendar event, held from Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th July, covering hundreds of races and including the likes of Olympic rowers.

Seasoned will provide exclusive hospitality services for athletes, members and corporate guests across the five-day event, with around 1,500 people per day indulging in culinary bliss. Six locations will be covered, including two private dining rooms, a Members’ dining room, a Members’ marquee, a Members’ bar as well as the scenic River-view bar.

Seasoned Executive Chef, Chris Hawkins will dazzle guests with an innovative menu inspired by the internationally recognised Leander Pink, with dishes including prawn and lobster cocktails for starters, 28 day aged sirloin of beef for mains and rhubarb cheesecake served with pink sorbet and gold leaf. Seasoned’s tantalising drinks will include  Whitley Neill’s rhubarb flavoured gin and to mark the occasion, 200 bottles of Leander’s own sparkling pink magnums, hand-numbered by year from Digby Fine English.

General  Manager at Leander Club, Paul Budd OBE FIH, said “Seasoned have looked after our hospitality provisions at Regatta for a number of years and for the staff and members it is like welcoming back family. They understand our needs and nothing is too much trouble. It’s a great partnership.”

Colin Sayers, Managing Partner at Seasoned, said “As Leander Club celebrates its bicentenary, we are incredibly proud of our own successful partnership, catering for the historic venue during Henley Royal Regatta for nine consecutive years, the quintessential British sporting and social event.

As usual you can enjoy our four-course luncheon and barbeques during the day, wind down after the races with traditional afternoon tea and indulge in our creative dinner menu.

The ethos and history of Leander Club exudes good fellowship, excellence and success, qualities that strongly resonate with the Seasoned team, as we continue our vision to produce exceptional dining experiences and impeccable service for every occasion.”
