Launched by the team behind Fitzrovia’s Portland, Portland Events will bring the restaurant to homes, venues or event spaces across London and beyond for the very first time.
Taking a bespoke approach, Chef Merlin Labron-Johnson will create unique menus of abundant, accomplished, seasonal dishes and canapés, tailored to each occasions’ requirements. Sample dishes include Spring vegetable crudités with smoked cod’s roe and herb oil, Crudo of halibut with raw peaches, elderflower and watercress, Aged beef rump cap with beetroot, smoked aubergine and beetroot jus, Pistachio and Raspberry millefeuille. In addition, the service will see Portland’s cellar doors flung open, with clients of Portland Events being given access to the restaurant’s wine list.
Of the new service, co-owner William Lander comments: “Portland has a wealth of creative talent amongst its ranks but will always be physically confined to one restaurant on Great Portland Street. Portland Events allows us to share our efforts and our creativity with a broader group of people and provide something bespoke.”
Launched to critical acclaim in 2015, Portland has gone from strength to strength, winning a coveted Michelin star in the same year, a mere 9 months after opening. Founded by Daniel Morgenthau and William Lander, the restaurant is known for Head Chef Merlin Labron-Johnson’s elegant, seasonal cooking.
Portland Events will be available for private hire for occasions including intimate dinner parties and gallery suppers, canapé receptions, private views, corporate events, photoshoots and festivals. The service will also encompass offerings from Woodhead Group’s other celebrated venues; Clipstone and Quality Chop House.
