Macdonald Swan’s Nest Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, has unveiled a collection of new suites following a £1.3million investment under the keen eye of recently appointed General Manager, James Bee.
The stunning 17th Century four-star hotel’s luxury transformation which was recently completed saw the creation of five new feature suites, making it the perfect place for those who enjoy the finer things in life.
The charm and character of the Georgian townhouse, in the area once home to Shakespeare, is reflected in its new interiors where guests can enjoy romantic luxury in the new feature suites named after characters from the Bard’s famous novel ‘Twelfth Night’ inlcuding Olivia, Viola and Orsino. The new suites have their own generous living area, some with a dining table and inset flatscreen TV in the bathroom, and are decorated with sophisticated dark pine furnishings. The attention to detail includes micro-fibre matteresses, made to Macdonald Hotels & Resorts’ specifications, to ensure guests have the most peaceful night’s sleep. As well as the new suites all 68 bedrooms will be fully refurbished by June.
Recently appointed Hotel General Manager, James Bee, who joined Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in 2012 has more than 18 years hospitality experience. After graduating from Birmingham College of Food, Tourism & Creative Studies James spent more than a decade in the hospitality industry in management positions at luxury hotels including Jurys Inn. During his time with the Jurys Inn hotel group, James received recognition for operating his hotel sustainably, twice winning the Green Business in Tourism Gold Award.
During his time at Macdonald Burlington Hotel James’ successes included increasing bedroom sales by more than 20 per cent and increasing its TripAdvisor ranking in the city by twelve places. James also oversaw Macdonald Burlington Hotel being recognised at the highest level of customer satisfaction for conferences achieving the BDRC Continental VenueVerdict Gold accreditation for each quarter of 2014.
