With the largest Malbec wine list of its kind – offering over 60 varieties – where better to celebrate World Malbec Day this year than at Gaucho? Not content with just one day of festivities, Gaucho has a phenomenal week of wine experiences planned across its 16 restaurant sites to mark the annual celebration.
Starting on World Malbec Day on 17th April, the seven-day series of events will offer a fascinating showcase of Argentina’s wine culture, as well as the chance to journey through Gaucho’s vast and leading selection of Argentinian Malbecs.
Gaucho will be celebrating the growth and success of the Malbec grape variety with a host of immersive tasting sessions, as well as exclusive restaurant offers. The fascinating events planned include a Malbec North to South evening on 17th April, where Gaucho’s Director of Wine Phil Crozier will showcase 12 Malbecs from across Argentina’s expansive region. Starting in the Northern Rio Negro province in Patagonia, guests will taste their way through the beautiful flavours of Mendoza and San Juan, all the way through to the dizzy heights of Salta.
For those still harbouring their Easter chocolate cravings, Gaucho will also be hosting a unique Malbec and Chocolate Pairing event on 18th April. Discover the amazing diversity of Malbec, as each wine will be perfectly matched in texture and flavour with a different style of chocolate.
Gaucho’s celebratory week will culminate on Sunday 22nd April with a fantastic Malbec Toast With Your Roast offering in all of Gaucho’s locations. Guests will be served three tasting glasses of beautiful Malbecs from Argentina’s varied regions with any Gaucho roast. The wines will arrive together, with Gaucho’s expert wine gurus on hand to explain their regional differences and help guests understand and savour the different Malbec styles.
