Cargo cafe in the University of Suffolk Waterfront Building relaunches Monday 16 April with Paddy and Scott’s coffee, a fresh new look and significant moves towards sustainability.
Both Vertas and Paddy and Scott’s pride themselves on their commitment to sustainability. As proud environment champions Paddy and Scott’s were the first UK coffee company to introduce recyclable coffee packaging as standard across their aromatic range and they’re now proudly one of the first UK high street coffee retailers delivering your flat white in a fully compostable takeaway cup*. Contract caterer Vertas proudly produces 40,000 meals a day, with 72% of their ingredients sourced within 50 miles of Ipswich and virtually everything else is traceable from farm to fork.
Cargo, fuelled by Paddy and Scott’s will be serving freshly made paninis, sausage rolls and scones from Ipswich bakery Sarnivores, significantly reducing food miles and supporting the local economy. Sausages are from Musks in Newmarket, the bacon is from Dingley Dell in Halesworth, sauces are Stokes of Rendlesham and the popular jacket potato offer will continue. The only plastic* will be film on the cardboard salad pots and the plastic dressing pots (the pots are fully recyclable).
