Following the success of the 2017 pop up, the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority is joining forces again with experiential cocktail bar, Archer Street, to bring a slice of Caribbean beach life to the heart of London’s West End. From 28th April through to October, Archer Street will be transformed into a beach bar with a series of special events to be announced throughout the summer.
The pop up will transport guests to the laid-back glamour of Antigua, with its picture-perfect beaches, sublime sunsets and warm welcome. The bar will be reminiscent of a typical Antiguan beach bar, which have become more accessible to visitors following the launch of the Beach Bar Trail last year. This brought the island’s many beach bars together on one map for the first time. The pop up will have sandy floors, rustic Caribbean décor, a 360 degree view of Antigua’s Shirley Heights viewpoint and Antiguan themed cocktail menus, all mixed with the island’s English Harbour Rum.
Archer Street is a vibrant cocktail lounge located in the heart of London’s Soho, famous for its inventive cocktails and talented team who entertain guests sporadically throughout the evening with live singing performances.
Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism UK & Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority said: “Our partnership with Archer Street was a huge success last year in terms of exposure for the destination and inspiring new audiences about another side of Antigua. We found that there is a strong affinity between Archer Street guests and the type of visitors who wish to travel to Antigua and we look forward to another productive summer at Archer Street, with some exciting initiatives in the pipeline.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority again this year to bring the very best of the Caribbean islands to Archer Street. The pop up will give guests a truly authentic experience – the traditional Antiguan décor and bespoke cocktail menu – as well as present signature live performances from the Archer Street team of talent” said Archer Street owners, Siobhan Magill and Sian Parry Jones.
