Sodexo, the world’s largest services company, has seen the talent and expertise of a number of its Sports & Leisure division employees in Scotland receive peer and industry recognition for their outstanding achievements to the business this year.
Linzi Purves, account manager for The Open Golf, has recently scooped a series of awards including the FSM award for Sports, Leisure and Event Catering, going up against fierce competition from the UK’s contract catering elite to take the crown. The FSM awards congratulate outstanding individuals on their accomplishments throughout the year, and are peer judged.
Following on from this accolade, Linzi went on to receive several other awards at the annual Sodexo UK Star Awards in London. She was presented with three separate awards for Sodexo’s Sports & Leisure Division; Account Manager of the Year; Comparative Unit Sales Growth and Special Team Effort.
There was further celebration for the Sodexo Sports and Leisure Scottish team with the following individuals also receiving recognition at the Star Awards:
- Craig Younger, general manager Hampden Park, was recognised as Star Business Manager for the Sports and Leisure division.
- Mary Thomson, cleaning services manager at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, won the title for Service Excellence in FM for the Sports and Leisure division.
- David Trotter, divisional director for Scotland & NI, scooped Clients for Life and Client Retention award in recognition of his long-standing, outstanding contributions to Sodexo for the Sports and Leisure division.
And recently appointed regional sales manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, Kate Nicholl was a finalist for Sodexo Sports & Leisure’s, Support Employee of the Year.
Sean Haley, Sodexo UK & Ireland regional chairman, said: “Sodexo’s awards celebrate those who have contributed to Sodexo in an exceptional way throughout the year. Sodexo wouldn’t be the highly-respected company it is without its employees. To win a national, or segment award, is a huge honour and our way of saying an extra thank you to those that have gone the extra mile. We are incredibly proud to see so many from our division recognised this year.
The Sodexo Star Awards were held at the Park Plaza Westminster in London and hosted by ex-England Rugby star, and Sodexo ambassador, Matt Dawson. He was joined by Brand and Communications director, Melanie Duffett. The awards provide Sodexo an opportunity to celebrate the exemplary services provided by its employees, without which Sodexo would not be able to provide the world class service it is proud to deliver.
