Oxford Brookes ranked top 20 in the world for Hospitality

Hospitality courses at Oxford Brookes University have been ranked 18th in the world in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The 2018 QS rankings saw Hospitality and Leisure Management climb 16 places, improving on last year’s score of 34th in the world.

Oxford Brookes is now the 3rd highest ranked UK university for this subject area, up from 6th in 2017.

Angela Maher, Head of the Oxford School of Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University said: “At Oxford Brookes, we are proud to offer a world-class education that fully prepares our students for a successful and fulfilling career in the international hospitality industry and these latest rankings are a clear signal of this.

“I am delighted that our Hospitality courses have improved their score in this year’s QS world rankings which is due to the expertise and dedication of our staff, and our hard-working, ambitious students.”

In recent years, the Oxford School of Hospitality has been ranked top in the UK for graduate employability (Guardian 2016) and one of the top three hospitality schools in the world (2016 Worldwide Hospitality Awards).

Oxford Brookes’ international reputation for the quality of its courses was further recognised as the institution is “ranked amongst the world’s top universities” in 15 individual subject areas.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alistair Fitt said: “In the current context of world events, Oxford Brookes remains truly committed to its international outlook.

“I am delighted that these latest QS world rankings have highlighted Oxford Brookes’ strengths across a broad range of subjects.

“In particular, the rise of our Hospitality courses in the rankings is great news.

“I have no doubt that our academic and professional services staff will continue to work hard and strive to provide a world-class education to all of our students.”

QS considers Oxford Brookes to be amongst the world’s top universities for:

This year’s Bacchus Alumni Awards will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Monday 16 April. The Bacchus Alumni Awards is an annual event which celebrates the achievements of hospitality students, graduates and industry friends.
