LifeCare Residences (“LCR”), the international retirement village operator, today announces the appointment of David Knight as the new General Manager of Grove Place.
David joins from Elmers Court Hotel and Resort, part of the Macdonald Hotels group, located just outside of Lymington on the edge of the New Forest. As Resort General Manager, David oversaw all aspects of operations across the 42 rooms, 54 timeshare accommodation units and 750-member leisure club and spa, placing great emphasis on guest experience and customer service.
Prior to joining Elmers Court Hotel and Resort, David spent two years as General Manager of Audleys Wood Hotel, part of the Hand Picked Hotels Group, located in Basingstoke. David also has over twelve years’ experience, working in senior positions within the hospitality sector, across Hampshire and Dorset.
As General Manager at Grove Place, David is responsible for the successful day-to-day running of the community, ensuring a first-rate level of service for all residents and staff, as well as maintaining and enhancing its person-centred approach to care.
David comments: “Grove Place has set a new standard for retirement communities across Hampshire and the south east, and it’s a privilege to join a company that invests in delivering high quality care and service throughout. With over a decade spent working at a senior level in the hospitality sector, guest experience is of the utmost importance to me, and I am enjoying getting to know all of the residents at Grove Place, working closely with them to ensure that they enjoy an enriched quality of life and calibre of care.
“In addition, I look forward to overseeing the expansion of Grove Place, as we deliver an onsite nursing home and expand the number of residential apartments available onsite.”
Nigel Sibley, CEO of LifeCare Residences, comments: “David’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Grove Place, now that the expansion plans are underway. With his commitment to client service, David will ensure that residents continue to receive best in class care, coupled with an enriched lifestyle, as well as a full calendar of events throughout the course of the year. We couldn’t have chosen a better manager for the job.”
