Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK’s largest independent hotel group, has committed to state-of-the-art leisure facilities for guests with a multi-million-pound investment programme.
As part of ongoing spa and leisure upgrades, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is in the process of a £2.5m overhaul at 16 Vital Health and Wellbeing Clubs across the UK.
The modern facilities already on offer at the Vital Health and Wellbeing Clubs will now be fitted with the latest gym technology from renowned health and training brand Life Fitness.
The project, which started in Macdonald Inchrya Hotel & Spa in Falkirk last month and finishes in Macdonald Houstoun House Hotel in Livingston within the next few weeks, is designed to deliver the latest gym equipment alongside bespoke training services for guests and members ready to tackle the New Year health kick.
Each of the rennovated lesiure suites introduces an engaging digital experience through the latest technologies, all connected to the internet.
The new gym technology includes SPARC Trainers for high intensity interval training which are engineered to be gentler on joints encouraging users to work harder by reducing their perceived exertion. Both the SE3 interactive cardio machines and PowerMill Climbers have easy to navigate start-up screens as well as integrated video streaming and internet compatibility. Spin class fans will be able work out alone or with a group in front of screens which will transport their workout to over 500 unique locations showing footage from the Italian Alps to road trails in California, on the IC6 Myride indoor cycle bikes.
The new equipment is supplemented by the Life Fitness’ SYNRGY station – it enables members of all abilities to train independently or in a small group using eight unique training spaces, including a 10-handle monkey bar zone and two dedicated areas for suspension training – creating an exciting environment for Circuit and High Intensity Interval Training.
Keith Pickard, Group Director of Golf, Leisure & Spa at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said:
“It is fantastic news that our leisure improvement programme has now been rolled out. The multi-million-pound investment reaffirms our commitment to providing guests with the very best state-of-the-art fitness and spa facilities, building on our already high standards.”
