Festive diners offered new culinary experience at Blue Smoke on the Bay

December 24, 2017

Diners looking for a new culinary experience in Cumbria this Christmas now have the chance to book into the Blue Smoke on the Bay restaurant on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Part of the ongoing £16 million redevelopment of Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa by English Lakes Hotels, the Lake District’s newest dining destination is offering a range of menus tailored for the festive period, including tasty treats such as maple glazed wood fired turkey breast steak and wood fired grilled hot Duarte smoked salmon.

A three metre long double wood fired grill is the centrepiece of the restaurant, giving diners the visual theatre of the chefs’ expertise and kitchen interaction, adding to the ambience of the venue.

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa general manager Nevil Jeffery says:  “Blue Smoke on the Bay offers both our guests at the hotel and local diners a modern new venue with our exciting wood fired grill creating international dishes, all served up in a stylish setting with stunning lake views.  We also offer an extensive range of wines and cocktails to enhance the dining experience.”

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa’s newly refurbished rooms re-opened after the first phase of construction in April.  The addition of ‘Blue Smoke on the Bay’ and the recent re-opening of the hotel’s health club and gym completed phase two.  New outdoor spa facilities are to open in the Spring of 2018 to complete a world class resort within the World Heritage Site.

The final phase will also feature extensive indoor and outdoor thermal experiences for guests, including a variety of cabins, relaxation areas, an infinity pool above the lake, hot tubs and sauna, with stunning views across Windermere.
