Scottish retreat, The Torridon, has been awarded the accolade for ‘Most Hospitable Hotel’ in the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards 2017.
Service that exceeds expectations and tailormade experiences in a luxurious environment are core to providing memorable stays for The Torridon’s discerning guests.
Ross Aitchison, general manager, has many anecdotes describing staff going the extra miles, such as when activity instructor Ryan dived into a loch to retrieve a guest’s camera, when a picnic was delivered to guests who were waiting for road-side assistance, and when activities leader Charlie took a guest foraging for chantrelle mushrooms for chef to cook for dinner.
Ross and Torridon Activities leader Charlie ensure that a broad range of experiential stays are on offer for guests. Go kayaking with seals, take afternoon tea at the top of a munro, book a private whisky tasting, feed the hotel’s own Highland cows and Tamworth pigs and let head chef show you around the two-acre Kitchen Garden.
Ross says: “It is testament to our incredible team that we have been awarded Most Hospitable Hotel. We provide each team member with a bespoke training programme to provide them with the tools to become what we call a ‘Torridon Best’ and we are delighted that everyone’s sterling efforts have been recognised.”
