Sharon Brook, Business Development Manager at Squire Hotels is celebrating having scooped the Best in Hospitality award at the coveted Women in Business Awards 2017, hosted by Downtown Lancashire in Business.
Over 200 business leaders attended the gala dinner where 16 awards were given out to recognise and reward some of the best female business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the county. Hosted by BBC presenter, Jacey Normand, the awards also celebrated success with an inspirational video and question and answer session with former team GB athlete, Diane Modahl.
Sharon who marks her 20th anniversary of working in the hospitality sector this year was thrilled with the win on the night, saying: “I was overwhelmed to beat outstanding peers to take home this trophy which will certainly stand in pride of place on the mantelpiece. I am very humbled to win and want to thank every member of my team who each deserve recognition as without them, I couldn’t do my job effectively.
“Personally, I think the hospitality industry in our region is in a league of its own and as an industry, we should all be very proud of the service and standards we are offering to continually boost tourism and economic well-being.”
Frank McKenna, CEO of Downtown in Business commented: “The quality of the nominees and the winners this year were superb. As always, the Lancashire audience was first class, and we had a really cracking night celebrating the best in the business as far as female entrepreneurship and leadership is concerned.”
The awards were held at a black tie event on 23rd November at The Villa in Wrea Green.
