The Mermaid, one of London’s most prestigious landmark venues, reopened its stylish and contemporary River Rooms on 14th September but there was a twist; the food served at the reception played on the theme of illusions.
Coordinating with the River Rooms’ premise of perceiving things as they aren’t, KUDOS designed an exciting and tantalisingly tasty bespoke menu that challenged perceptions of what food looks and tastes like.
The weird and wonderful food served up to guests at the launch party included avocado and salmon ice cream cones, a selection of fruit sushi, sweet chilli pineapples, spiced pumpkin and orange scented quinoa plated bon bons, and lime macaroons with fresh crab.
KUDOS Food Director, David Cavalier, said; “I wanted to create a fun and novel sensory experience for guests at the River Rooms’ launch party – something that would challenge their beliefs regarding the appearance and flavour of what they were eating. The Mermaid venue is such a magnificent one, boasting stunning river views, so I was passionate about delivering a menu that matched those high standards.”
The company ethos at KUDOS revolves around creating spectacular culinary delights using only the best locally sourced ingredients.
