MCC has revealed that guests attending summer fixtures at Lord’s Cricket Ground toasted England’s 2017 success with over half a million drinks during a sell-out hospitality season.
With a number of England wins throughout the 2017 cricket season at Lord’s, hospitality guests and match spectators raised their glasses with:
- 58,000 glasses of Champagne
- 71,000 pints of Pimm’s
- 271,000 pints of lager
- 114,000 pints of Pedigree Ale
- 7,000 glasses of gin
Additionally, over 7,000 hospitality guests were served their drink of choice with which to cheer on and toast their teams during 2017, which included two Test Match victories for England over South Africa and West Indies, a One-Day International win against Ireland, and England Women winning the ICC Women’s World Cup in memorable fashion against India.
Nick Kenton, Head of Sales for Meetings & Events and Hospitality at Lord’s, commented: “In 2017, England enjoyed a successful season at Lord’s in front of a number of sell-out crowds. In addition to this, Lord’s opened its brand new £25.6 million Warner Stand and dining experience, Pelham’s, at the Pavilion end of the Ground which has been very well received by our guests. So all in all, there has been plenty to celebrate this year and what better way than with your drink of choice. I would like to thank our staff for all their hard work in keeping the drinks flowing, alongside preparing and serving a wonderful array of food.”
