Premium bar and restaurant, The Alchemist has today announced the acquisition of three new sites in Cardiff, Bristol and Nottingham. The news comes following the successful opening of its milestone 10th venue in Chester last month.
The sites’ design, led by Macaulay Sinclair will follow The Alchemist’s trademark ‘copper-cased wonderland’ décor, with warm interiors featuring amber, coppers and reds accompanied by unique artworks.
Operating in the former Hard Rock Café on King Street – Nottingham will open in December 2017 following a £1.6million investment, extending over an impressive two floors and 6,500 sq. ft.
Opening in March 2018 and situated in a former NatWest Bank on St Mary Street, Cardiff is the first Welsh venue for The Alchemist, with a total investment of £1.6million across the 5,900 sq. ft. site.
The Alchemist will make its mark in the heart of Bristol on Queen’s Road, with a £1.3million rejuvenation. Spanning over two floors, the impressive 5,200 sq. ft. site will open its doors to the public on April 2018.
Celebrating a momentous year, The Alchemist has seen impressive growth and brand milestones including; the opening of its 10th site, a spot on The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list, and two further openings in Media City and Oxford later in 2017.
Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, said: “We are delighted to announce the three new sites; Cardiff, Nottingham and Bristol are all fantastic cities and I believe we have secured amazing locations in each of them.
The acquisitions will take us to 15 sites – which is a great achievement and testament to the hard work of the whole team. It’s a real joy to be able to announce positive plans for our continued growth at a time when there seems to be a lot of uncertainty in the sector. Our guests seem to be enjoying our unique offer and I’m confident that The Alchemist brand will be a positive addition to cities wherever it goes in the future.”
