This July, Heliot Steak House, the award-winning restaurant located inside The Hippodrome, is launching No-Tech Tuesdays in a bid to encourage diners to get back to the joys of ‘good old conversation’ during dinner. Guests will have the choice of foregoing their electronic devices for the duration of the meal and those who succeed will be awarded with 20% off the total bill.
This new digital detox for dining is available every Tuesday in July from 5pm and is a chance for loved ones and friends to catch up without interruption, something that is becoming a rarity in the hustle and bustle of London. The offer will also give guests the chance to take a step back and focus on the flavours of the food, savouring the restaurant’s signature 28-day aged USDA prime steaks, without the pressure of reporting about it on social media.
In order to participate in the challenge, all devices must be put in the middle of the table in a sealed bag before ordering. The bag can be opened at any time during the meal but for those who resist and conquer the challenge of enjoying a tech-free meal, the reward will be a discount on all food and drink ordered, as well as the pride of knowing that they are still an expert in the time-honoured tradition of table talk.
Hippodrome Casino owner Simon Thomas said: “No-Tech Tuesdays is a bit of fun which flies in the face of everyone’s desire to keep a constant record of their lives on social media.
“We love the blogs, the tweets and the plaudits from all over social media but for one evening a week we’re gently challenging diners to put their phones away, just for the length of their meal, to savour the whole experience of dining at Heliot. Overlooking the main casino floor, it’s a unique experience like no other if you’re dining out in central London.”
Heliot Steak House provides a unique dining experience in heart of London, enjoying a rare view overlooking the casino gaming floor and is a great a place to relax and enjoy a meal in a fun environment followed by a show in the 180-seat Cabaret theatre.
