Luxardo Bitter Bianco launched in February 2017, and has established itself in just a few months, attracting plenty of curiosity and bar listings. It is fast winning over bartenders seeking fresh ideas for an alternative spritz serve and has jumped into the shortlist for Top 10 Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient in the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards [to be announced 22 July]. Embracing innovation and heritage, it champions its Italian roots. Gareth Franklin, Luxardo global brand ambassador will host masterclasses for Luxardo Bitter Bianco as one of the partner brands in the Italian Pavilion at Imbibe show 3-4 July. It will also feature alongside other classic liqueurs in the Luxardo range on the Cellar Trends stand G20.
Fashionable alfresco-style venues which have created new seasonal serves with Luxardo Bitter Bianco, include Hush and the roof top Aviary bar at the Montcalm hotel in the City of London. Gareth Franklin, Luxardo global brand ambassador has been working with bars to experiment with new mixes, alongside twists on classics such as a Luxardo Negroni Bianco [with gin and white vermouth] and a Luxardo Bitter Bianco gin & tonic, or a simple Spritz with prosecco and a squeeze of pink grapefruit.
The stand-out style of Luxardo Bitter Bianco, 30 percent abv, comes from its unusual production as a distilled liqueur. Similar in the creation of Luxardo Maraschino, the distillation creates a new dimension of flavours and its signature clear-straw colour, whilst retaining a delicately light, bitter-sweet profile.
Craig Chapman, marketing manager for Luxardo at Cellar Trends, adds, “Innovation in spirits and liqueurs is constant, and more and more bartenders are becoming skilled in inventing their own housemade infusions and complex cocktails. So a new product really has to stand out and prove itself.
Also, for consumers seeking to try easy to mix options at home, the aim is always to create a product that tastes enticing straight out of the bottle. The first taste is crucial, and Luxardo Bitter Bianco aims to create this excitement.”
The guide retail price for a 70cl bottle in shops is £16. For UK trade enquiries: sales@cellartrends.co.uk
