Leading food service equipment manufacturer, Electrolux Professional, has returned for a second year as the headline sponsor of Obsession – the UK’s premier gastronomic festival.
Now in its 17th year, Obsession 17 will see 23 chefs from around the world – boasting 16 Michelin stars between them – descend on the iconic Michelin-starred restaurant and country-house hotel, Northcote, for 17 nights from Friday 20th January to Sunday 5th February.
As the first ever headline sponsor of Obsession in 2016, Electrolux’s continued commitment to the event is the latest step in a sustained close working relationship with Northcote, which boasts a full suite of the manufacturer’s best-in-class equipment in the restaurant’s kitchen. As such, 2017’s mouth-watering line-up of great chefs will all be working with a bespoke kitchen concept which has repeatedly proven its ability to deliver fine dining to as many as 100 customers at a time.
Nigel Haworth, Chef Patron at Northcote, commented: “I’m really excited about the event [Obsession 17]- there’s so many great chefs. When I try and bring all these great chefs together, the secret really is for them to enjoy it and, of course, for the customers to have a great time. Every year it gets bigger and betters – it’s become a very special event.
“I chose Electrolux equipment because, four years ago when I built the new kitchen at Northcote, for me it was the best equipment for what our requirements were. I needed, from a plancha point of view, to be able to cook direct and indirect, and that for me is quite unique to the Electrolux plancha. Then I wanted induction, and they had a very good range of induction, so really all-round it worked for me.
“I went to Switzerland and I was really impressed with the standard of engineering at the factory over there, so it was a no-brainer.”
