COURTYARD by Marriott has officially checked into Glasgow following a multi-million pound investment by owner Cairn Group and the hotel has already received high acclaim by visitors through its doors.
Since the conversion from its former brand, the Glasgow Airport hotel has seen a soar in positive reviews across social rating websites including TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Expedia and Hotels.com.
The high quality refurbishment which involved all of its 114 bedrooms, reception areas and general public facilities has led to a boost in visitor satisfaction. On TripAdvisor, the average review rating has jumped from 2.5 to 4.4 out of 5 in the last two months.
As a result, the hotel has experienced an uplift in sales almost instantaneously – over 8,000 guests have enjoyed an overnight stay since the rebrand to a Courtyard by Marriott and enquiries have significantly increased, which will help to create job opportunities this year.
Highlights of the Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow Airport design include restaurant and bar venue The Bistro, ‘The Market’ concept offering convenience items around the clock, a brand new fitness facility, conference rooms and a business centre complete with computer terminals.
Technology also plays an important role in the customer journey with media pods and the touch screen GoBoard, enabling guests to view the latest airport arrival and departure information, the most popular tourist attractions and more at their fingertips.
Towards the end of 2016 the team hosted an exclusive VIP event to showcase the new-look accommodation, leisure, hospitality and conferencing facilities to local businesses, tourism boards and frequent visitors.
Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow Airport general manager, Matthew Hole said: “It’s been fantastic to hear such positive feedback from our guests who have stayed with us and others who have simply come to explore the hotel. We even welcomed the programme director of Robot Wars who was very impressed!
“Growth will continue to be on our agenda throughout 2017, as we will be nurturing our relationships with the nearby business and residential community, and building on the initial investment made with an exciting new bedroom extension.”
The hotel is conveniently located next to the airport and just 15 minutes’ drive from Glasgow city centre, boasting great accessibility with links to motorways and Glasgow Central train station.
Furthermore, it sits less than 30 minutes from the shores of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and is just a short distance to stunning sea views and world famous golf courses, making it an ideal base from which to discover more of Scotland.
