Chef and restaurateur Adam Handling will be opening the second The Frog restaurant, which will be in London’s Covent Garden.
Scheduled to open in summer this year, the flagship restaurant will showcase Adam’s distinctive cooking style – combining technical savvy with the best possible produce – with a sizeable open-plan kitchen, and a large private dining room in the basement complete with its own kitchen.
The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year round, with a full team of 37 staff.
Says Adam Handling:
“I’m hugely excited about opening the new restaurant this year. The Frog E1 has been so well-received and set the standard for The Frog as a group, and the new restaurant will be rooted in those foundations but also have its own, distinct style with its own dishes. The new site will draw a different clientele to the first restaurant in Shoreditch, and I want it to be unlike anything else currently available in Covent Garden.”
Adam is only 28 years old and has competed and won an array of culinary awards throughout his career, including Scottish Young Chef of the Year, Scottish Chef of the Year, Newcomer Restaurant of the Year, the British Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year in 2014, and was tipped as one of the “30 under 30 to watch” in the 2013 Acorn Awards.
Adam and the team are looking to build on the success of the first The Frog E1 restaurant, which was most recently listed in Bloomberg’s roundup of London’s 11 best restaurants of 2016, Hot Dinners’ best new London restaurants to open in 2016, The Caterer’s top 10 restaurant openings of 2016, The Handbook’s pick of the best new venues to open in 2016, and Square Meal’s list of 2016’s best new London restaurants.
