One of London’s most well-known purveyors of ground-breaking, high-end theatrical spectaculars, The Black Cat Cabaret, has announced a new series of supper club events taking place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from Thursday 26th January 2017.
Taking place at a former vaudeville venue hidden below the bustling pavements of Piccadilly, The Black Cat Cabaret’s new residency promises to combine opulent surroundings and fine dining with spectacular performances and breathtaking shows. In-keeping with the Black Cat’s trademark dark and dazzling style, guests can expect to encounter high-kicking showgirls, jaw-dropping acrobats, comics, madcap singers, live musicians and a fire-breathing burlesque goddess.
Taking place in an intimate space that used to house the iconic Pigalle, The Black Cat Supper Club will offer its guests the chance to step into a night of old-world decadence, debauched grandeur and eclectic elegance.
After descending into the depths of the cabaret club, guests will be greeted with a choice of five specially designed cocktails. Created by Chris Edwardes (Groucho Club, Jazz Café), the drinks are inspired by Black Cabaret stars and provide a heady accompaniment to the evening.
The show itself is a who’s who of London’s revered cabaret scene. Compere Dusty Limits, the Dark Prince of Cabaret resides over proceedings, accompanied by Cabaret Rouge, The Black Cat Cabaret’s resident showgirl dynamos. The shows will also feature performances from the likes of international aerial daredevil Katharine Arnold, gentleman juggler Florian Brooks, murder ballad chanteuse Baby Carla and fire burlesque siren Missy Fatale.
At this new supper club event, the food also plays a leading role. Created by The Black Cat Cabaret’s head chef, Alex Foley (Mercer & Co, Chapel Bar), the menu features a selection of small pan-European inspired sharing plates, main courses and desserts that can be enjoyed as a 3-course dinner on a private mezzanine table, or as laidback bites downstairs in the stalls. Guests can expect light flavoursome and mouthwatering dishes, such as butternut gnocchi with a sage butter, Andalusian chicken, beef carpaccio with a mustard cream, Taleggio-stuffed Arancini and a lemon ricotta cheesecake.
Having appeared at some of London’s most revered cabaret venues, from Cafe de Paris and Hotel Café Royal, to the London Wonderground at Southbank Centre, The Black Cat Cabaret’s new season will hark back to the supper clubs of the 1930s, and offer Londoners a full night time destination from cocktail hour, through dinner and on to live entertainment.
