With a career spent in some of the most revered pastry kitchens in London, Heather Kaniuk joins Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London as Executive Pastry Chef.
Overseeing a team of experienced pastry chefs and cake specialists, Chef Heather will be responsible for all confectionary items served within the hotel. This includes the intricate Shangri-La Signature Cakes at LANG, afternoon tea and the overall dessert offerings for the restaurant and lounge, private events, weddings and in-room dining.
Chef Heather was most recently head pastry chef at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park, which was awarded ‘Best Contemporary Afternoon Tea 2016’.
Prior to this, she was responsible for the overall production of desserts for Yauatcha Soho, City and Sake no Hana restaurants. She spent over a year working at the San Francisco Baking Institute, a renowned leader in French artisan baking throughout the United States.
Previous roles also include the creation of desserts and breads for some of London’s top restaurants, including Gordon Ramsay’s Maze, The Providores and Tapa Room, and at Marylebone.
