On Friday 7 October, fancy winning a year’s worth of spa treatments or a stay in a luxury penthouse suite? Hilton London Bankside is celebrating one year since its opening as one of London’s most exciting design hotels. Located in the buzzing Bankside area, which saw the opening of the new Tate Modern wing in May, the hotel has become a dynamic member of the community, supporting local businesses, charities and local residents. To mark the occasion London Hilton Bankside will be staging a special ‘golden ticket’ cupcake competition, with fantastic prizes for both guests and locals to win, as well as donating to a community cause. The milestone is a chance for the hotel to reflect on the fantastic achievements in its debut year including the installation of the much celebrated rooftop beehives designed by Alex Monroe, being shortlisted for four European Hotel Design Awards and hosting MERGE festival in partnership with culinary design innovators Bompas & Parr – to name a few!
The golden ticket competition will come in the form of 365 delicious cupcakes, one to mark each day of opening, and will be on display in the lobby area of the hotel from Friday 7th October 2016. Lovingly made by Executive Chef Paul Bates, the cupcakes will be encased in individual boxes with 36 golden tickets hidden beneath a random selection of cakes, giving participants a 10% chance of winning. Each cupcake will be priced at a minimum donation of £3 with all proceeds donated to local charity Evelina Children’s Hospital. Some of the fantastic prizes on offer are a year’s worth of spa treatments at the hotel, a weekend in the newly launched Penthouse suite, a cocktail masterclass for six at The Distillery and an Alex Monroe necklace alongside bottomless brunch at OXBO. Those not staying at the hotel are welcome to walk in and buy a cupcake for the chance to win one of the prizes.
Since the hotel’s launch event which saw Jess Glynne perform for the UK’s first Hilton@Play concert, the hotel has had an incredibly successful year with a huge range of achievements that focused on some of the key elements that Hilton London Bankside prides itself on – innovation, design and responsible tourism. Some of the year’s highlights include taking part in London Design Festival with Adobe resident artist Craig Winslow, hosting one of MERGE festival’s most sought after events with experimental design house Bompas & Parr and the launch of the Bankside Beehives, installed on the hotel’s rooftop meadow and designed by local jeweller Alex Monroe, raising over £1000 for Bankside Open Spaces Trust.
In its second year Hilton London Bankside has much to look forward to with the launch of its own spa treatment rooms in October which will perfectly compliment the already existing pool and gym area at the hotel. The hotel has also been shortlisted for a number of awards including four nominations for the European Hotel Design Awards and the best ‘New Event Space’ at Haymarket Event Awards which will be announced later this year.
