Third acquisition of the year for Coaching Inns Group

September 29, 2016

Independent coaching inns operator, The Coaching Inn Group, has completed its third acquisition of the year purchasing the Three Swans in Hungerford, taking the Group to 12 properties.

The acquisition, part of a £20 million expansion plan, positions the Group well to deliver on its target of 15 sites before the end of its financial year.

The traditional 26-bed Three Swans, positioned right on Hungerford High Street, still retains many original features, including the original archway to the courtyard for coaches.  As well as being popular with tourists visiting the area, the property boasts a bar, restaurant, award-winning courtyard and event facilities, which continue to prove popular with the local community.

The Coaching Inn Group Founder and CEO, Kevin Charity, said: “Since announcing our acquisition plan, we’ve purchased six properties across the UK and we aim to acquire another three by the end of our financial year.  The Three Swans encompasses all the attributes we are looking for in future properties; busy market town locations and businesses that will draw in locals and visitors from further afield alike.

“The next six months will see significant investment in the property, including refurbishing the accommodation areas and developing the food and beverage offering and experience, through the introduction of our Eatery and Coffee House brand. This will include a new outside area and a focus on trading right through the day from coffees in the morning to cocktails in the evening, which has been key to our success elsewhere.”

The Coaching Inn Group has 12 historic venues across the UK and has built a strong reputation in the industry for transforming high quality coaching inns through the introduction of its premium casual dining brand, the Eatery and Coffee House.  As part of its £20 million expansion programme the Group remains on track to reach 15 sites before the end of the year.oup
