Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jason Littlejohns as its new Regional Executive Head Chef. In his new position Jason will be responsible for the hotel’s portfolio of five properties based in the North West. These include Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa, Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa and Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa.
With some 27 years’ cheffing and management experience gained in some of the UK’s best known hotels, he brings with him a wealth of talent and expertise.
Jason started his career as a Chef de Partie at the Buckerell Lodge Hotel in Exeter before developing his culinary skills and working his way through the ranks at the likes of The Victoria and Albert Hotel in Manchester, Shrigley Hall Hotel in Pott Shrigley and Mottram Hall Hotel in Prestbury.
Prior to his move, Jason worked at The Palace Hotel in Manchester, leading a £2.3m food operation including simultaneously managing two kitchens for restaurants and banqueting.
Commenting on his appointment, Jason said: “After eight years in my previous role, I would only move for a position that was perfect for me and I’m delighted to have found it with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts.
“Its hotels are known for the exceptional quality of their food and service and it’s my aim to grow that reputation further with menus that will inspire and attract guests, visitors and locals alike.”
He will be primarily based at the Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa, Manchester’s largest four-star hotel set in the heart of Cottonopolis.
