Luxury seafront hotel, The Grand Brighton, has today unveiled a refurbishment of its Victoria Terrace, Lounge and Bar. Partnering with Brighton based award-winning interior designers, Park Grove, the hotel has created a new theme based on The Grand’s original 19th century architecture, while adding a contemporary feel.

New features include a botanical mural depicting a Victorian landscaped garden which sets off contemporary furniture shapes in strong Victorian colours, while a custom-designed display cabinet hosts a changing series of objects from the nearby Brighton & Hove Museum, an initiative linking the location with its local surroundings and history.

The refurbishment has allowed the hotel to double the number of covers in the Victoria Terrace due to increased dining space, while the entire layout can be moved and changed to suit a variety of designs and guest booking requirements.

To complement the re-design, The Grand has also introduced a new Afternoon Tea menu as well as new street food inspired menus, all designed by the hotel’s Executive Chef, Alan White.

‘Afternoon Tea by the Sea’ is served from Monday to Sunday (three sittings per day at 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm) within the Victoria Terrace area and guests can indulge themselves with a selection of freshly made sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes. The menu reflects the new design while remaining true to its famous seaside setting and is a celebration of tea and its theatre.

New street food inspired menus have also been introduced to the Victoria Terrace and will feature eight to ten dishes that will change on a regular basis. Available every day between 6.30pm and 9.30pm the new menus include dishes such as pork belly croquettes, beef brisket brioche burger, chix knuckles, prosciutto and maple, as well as sweet treats including cheesecake and pancakes.

Andrew Mosley, General Manager at The Grand Brighton, comments: “Afternoon Tea has played an incredibly important part in the history of The Grand and we are excited that the refurbishment of our Victoria Terrace, Bar and Lounge will help to create the next chapter in this great tradition.

“As a business, we are committed to the continued development of The Grand as a destination, as well as creating the best possible experience for our guests. Our ethos is also to support local businesses and the Brighton area, so we were delighted to work with both Park Grove and Gresham Blake on this project and are absolutely thrilled with the results.”
