The Barbary, the second restaurant from the founders of The Palomar in Soho, is now open at Seven Dials, following an official launch on June 15.
Located at 16 Neal’s Yard, the 1,276 sq ft and 24 cover restaurant takes inspiration from the Barbary Coast and will have a focus on grilling and baking, from Moorish Spain, to the tip of Morocco and along the Barbary Coast to Jerusalem.
The menu starts off with breads and dips and features a unique grill section split into ‘Land’, ‘Sea’ and ‘Earth’. The Barbary interiors were created by Gundry & Ducker and feature an open plan kitchen. This is bordered by a kitchen bar made of iroko wood with a weathered zinc top. An Eau de Nil neon sign sits above the chefs, with the restaurant’s arched windows opening out into the leafy Neal’s Yard courtyard.
Commenting on the news, Julia Wilkinson, Portfolio & Group Restaurant Strategy Executive at Shaftesbury said: “Neal’s Yard has welcomed a raft of strong operators over the past 18 months, including SaladPride, Native and 26 Grains.
