One of Marco Pierre White’s first New York Italian restaurants, welcomes a new Restaurant Manager to manage their hugely popular eatery. Lorna Robinson has been recently appointed and will now be leading a team of waiting and kitchen staff, that aim to deliver the Godfather of British Cookings’ concept of ‘affordable glamour’ to Leicester.
Lorna brings 13 years’ of expertise and experience in the restaurant and hospitality trade to the restaurant, based in Mercure The Grand Hotel on Granby Street. She’s held managerial positions at a number of established eateries in Leicester and across the country, including Las Iguanas in Oxford, ASK Italian in Milton Keynes and Revolution Bar and Kitchen in Leicester.
Lorna has this to say about her new role as Restaurant Manager at Marco’s;
“I am absolutely thrilled about my new challenge at Marco’s! This fantastic restaurant delivers culinary options for every budget and price point, a secluded yet busy atmosphere and impeccable service. I’m really excited to start working with the existing team, and giving the people of Leicester an unforgettable dining experience.”
Originally from Liverpool, Lorna returned to Leicester in 2014, here’s what she had to say about it’s thriving food sector;
“Leicester is a hotspot for foodies and home to such a superb range of eateries. Having worked in several other cities, such as Oxford and Islington, Leicester is by far my home and absolute favourite city of them all!”
Lorna’s latest venture in Leicester sees her taking on new challenges and seeing the restaurant through its second year of trading. With the restaurant seeing 20,000 diners through its doors in their first year, Lorna is eager to exceed Marco’s already high figures in 2016;
“I’m determined to give people a dining experience that is truly memorable. To often, restaurants fall down because of their service and people choose not to come back because of this. Marco’s already has a very strong team that deliver quality service, my main goal is to build on this and make our restaurant THE most popular in Leicestershire.
