National Doughnut Week is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and cafes and coffee shops need to register before 3rd May to be able to take part with the fun week of fundraising from 7th – 14th May.
Last year £37,640 was raised from National Doughnut Week, with all the money going directly to The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.
Cafes who register will receive a special pack full of promotional materials from CSM Bakery Solutions with everything they need to make the most of the occasion.
Sara, owner of Pomodoro E Basilico and vegan baker, took part in the fundraising last year: “Since I had recently started my own food business, I decided to sign up for National Doughnut Week as it is a great opportunity to support a great charity and also raise awareness of my own products.
“Nobody else was providing doughnuts free from animal ingredients so I created a range of special doughnuts for the week, used my promotional pack and set up a stall at Shepherd’s Markets in Duke of York Square, London, raising lots of funds for The Children’s Trust. I can highly recommend this opportunity, especially to small businesses. I also suggest the use of social media, it helps every time!”
