Robinsons Brewery have teamed up with five of the most historic pubs in Manchester’s City Centre to launch Manchester’s newest ale trail.
Dubbed ‘The Manchester Heritage Ale Trail’, this seeks to be an ale trail with a difference. Whereas many real ale trails feature as many as 20 different pubs, each encouraging participants to enjoy a drink, this ale trail believes less is more… featuring five of the most historic pubs in all of Manchester (Circus Tavern, The City Arms, Wine Inn, Town Hall Tavern and The Britons Protection).
Promoting intelligent consumption of quality beers, The Manchester Heritage Ale Trail seeks to give real ale fans a heightened sensory experience by focusing on quality rather than quantity.
Mark West, Owner of both The Britons Protection and The City Arms, commented: “For us, it’s about telling the story of Manchester’s history and its pubs, whilst enjoying some quality real ales along the way (in moderation). Too many of the larger ale trails get hijacked by hen and stag do’s and the excessive drinking can ruin the whole experience. This ale trail is the perfect length. Friends can get together, sample some fine real ales, visit some historic pubs – each over 200 years old and with their own story to tell – and go away still friends without get sloshed. That’s not what appreciating real ale is all about.”
The premise is simple: as real ale fans journey through the trail they will collect a stamp in every pub (once they have purchased a pint). Participants that complete the ale trail and collect all of the stamps will win a free Heritage Trail t-shirt and a special discount off Robinsons award-winning Brewery Tours in Stockport (buy one get one free on a standard Brewery Tour).
Ben Robinson, Head of Sales at Robinsons Brewery, commented: “This is a great opportunity for real fans to visit five of Manchester’s most iconic pubs – each of which stocks a Robinsons’ real ale. We’re proud to sponsor The Manchester Heritage Ale Trail and we’re sure it will be a success.”
The Manchester Ale Trail will launch to the public on the 1st March 2016 and is expected to run for the foreseeable future. To take part in The Manchester Heritage Ale Trail, simply pick up a collector card from any of the five participating pubs.
