The Original Bowling Company, the UK’s largest tenpin bowling operator, has kicked off 2016 by investing £350,000 in the refurbishment of its Hollywood Bowl Centre in London’s Surrey Quays.
True to its namesake, the new look Centre has been redesigned to benefit from a larger focus on all things Americana.
This includes a new ‘Hollywood Diner’ serving American-style classics from the new menu, including hand-crafted burgers, gourmet dogs, freshly made shakes served in milk bottles and retro glasses, and Sundaes. One of the booths in the Hollywood Diner is even made out of a vintage Mustang car.
There is also a stylish bar area serving house speciality cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks, making it ideal for night time trade, or purely to relax in before and after games.
All of the Centre’s 32 lanes offer touch-screen technology and six of the lanes have been converted into new VIP lanes, allowing customers to book to bowl in a plush, roped off area overlooked by Hollywood legends such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Harrison Ford. The addition of these new lanes gives Surrey Quays more VIP lanes than any other Hollywood Bowl in the country – reflective of its proximity to the London corporate market.
The company completed a total of five Hollywood Bowl refurbishments n in 2015, and is starting 2016 where it left off last year.
Steve Burns, CEO at The Original Bowling Company said: “The refurbishments we completed in 2015 have been extremely well-received by our customers and are delivering excellent returns on our investments. The Surrey Quays centre is the first of several planned refurbishments in 2016 and we are also actively looking for opportunities to open new centres on a nationwide basis.”
