Revolución de Cuba opens in Nottingham

December 25, 2015

Premium bar and dining operator Revolution Bars Group PLC has revealed more details about the latest addition to its fast growing brand, Revolución de Cuba. Following a £1.7million investment, the new Nottingham site opened on 9th December, located on Market Street, an up and coming area of the vibrant city centre.

The launch creates over 90 new full and part-time jobs for people in Nottingham, of which 10 are management positions and 12 are within the kitchen, with the rest making up the bar and floor team. Over 90 per cent of these roles have been filled by people new to the company, demonstrating the opportunities available for those keen to work for such a dynamic and exciting business; while the internal appointments have provided a fantastic career path for those ready for a new challenge.

£1.5 million invested

Over £1.5million of the investment has been spent on the development itself, demonstrating the extensive refurbishment that has taken place. Previously a neglected grade II listed building, Revolution has completely transformed the site, stripping it back to its original glory and restoring features such as windows and arches that had been hidden away. These details perfectly complement the rustic chic inspired theme that is key to the Revolución de Cuba design, with the ceiling fans, vintage furniture, artwork and live music stage seen at the brand’s other sites.

The new Revolución de Cuba site is spread over two floors with three separate rooms and bar areas, as well as a dedicated eating section. The ground floor has over 3,100 square foot available to customers, with an additional 2,500 square foot on the first floor. Customers enter through an impressive lobby area, which is reminiscent of traditional buildings in Havana. A further unique aspect of this venue is the Havana bar on the second floor, which is open from 9pm every day and trades as a separate entity, with its own bespoke cocktail menu featuring fresh fruit daiquiris. This bar even features a robotic cocktail shaker to amaze and entertain customers.

Clinton Ghent, Brand Manager of Revolución de Cuba, commented: “We are thrilled to be opening our new Revolución de Cuba bar, the Group’s 60th site, as we continue an extensive acquisition drive which has seen three openings over the last two months. Nottingham has some great bars and restaurants and we’re looking forward to bringing something a little different to the city. This area, in particular, is enjoying a real renaissance and becoming much more stylish and upmarket, and we are excited to be part of this.”
