Theatres, cinemas, and live entertainment venues across the country are boosting their wine sales by opting to sell Intrepid Fox single-serve wine. The Intrepid Fox ‘wine in a glass’ presents a more attractive alternative to serving wine from bottles into flimsy plastic cups, while the ‘all-in-one’ nature of the product reduces serving time, wastage, and storage costs.
Due to health and safety concerns, large-capacity theatres, music venues, and cinema franchises will typically be glass-free environments. This presents a challenge to caterers wanting to serve wine to customers while providing them with an enjoyable experience. Intrepid Fox is designed to closely resemble a traditional wine glass in both look and feel, while having none of the safety risks associated with real glass. Made from shatterproof PET and sealed with an easy-peel foil lid, Intrepid Fox practically eliminates the risk of costly, and potentially dangerous, spills and breakages.
One theatre and live entertainment venue benefiting from Intrepid Fox is Preston Guild Hall. Richard Simkin, Head of Operations at Preston Guild Hall, spoke of the decision to move from single-serve bottles to Intrepid Fox: “For popular shows we can get well over 2000 visitors to the arena, and over 800 to the theatre. With such large footfalls, the fact that I can quite literally serve several units in a matter of seconds can make a big difference to our revenue over time. This is particularly true during intervals or during pre-show periods, when we simply can’t serve customers fast enough.”
Some venues are finding different benefits from selling intrepid Fox in preference to using bottles and plastic cups. Reel Cinemas operate cinemas across Southern England, and they have seen a significant rise in the sales of Intrepid Fox across their venues. Part of the reason for the increase in sales is due to the improved customer experience that results from serving quality wine in attractive glasses.
Muhammad Faisal, Operations Manager at Reel Cinemas, stated: “There is no question that the wine is good quality, but the main selling point is the glass itself. Customers want to enjoy their wine in an attractive, elegant glass, not a flimsy plastic tumbler. As we can’t have glass in the theatres, Intrepid Fox is the ideal choice.”
This sentiment was shared by Richard Simkin at Preston Guild Hall, who said: “It isn’t all about rate of sale of course. The wine itself is good quality, it always goes down well with customers, and it certainly looks a lot better than serving wine into a plastic cup or beaker.”
Each glass of Intrepid Fox is filled with 187ml of good quality wine, and is sealed with a foil lid, giving the product a shelf-life of up to a year. The glasses are fully recyclable, and are available in Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Rosé.
