As part one of a two #HandCSocial event month this October H&C News was pleased to visit Manchester on October 1 and explore current Social Media experience and trends with a lively and well-informed group representing hotels, restaurants, manufacturers, and contractors, including:
- Armourcoat
- Berkeley Scott
- C&C Catering Equipment
- Creation ADM
- Electrolux Professional
- Green Earth Appeal
- INNSIDE Manchester – Melia Hotels
- Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa
- Maroush Group
- The Hub
- Tony Macaroni Group
- Travel Intelligence Network
- WPR
Not only was it a pleasure to experience Hotel Football as a venue for the first time (at least, for some of us), it was also both instructive and enjoyable to learn about the thriving hospitality and catering sector in the North West, and how it is employing Social Media to significant effect.
There is, of course, no reason why the use of Social Media should be more sophisticated and effective in one part of the country than another – and it became very clear that practice in the North West is a match for London and anywhere else.
Sponsors: Guy Whitehead, CEO and Daniel Nevitt, Group Marketing Director of Armourcoat take to reporting #HandCSocial on Periscope. The roundtable was introduced by the presentation of carbon neutral event certificates to the #HandCsocial sponsor partners, Artmourcoat and C&C Catering Equipment, by Marvin Baker, CEO of Green Earth Appeal.
Jessica Kitchin, Marketing Executive at C&C Catering Equipment with the carbon neutral event certificate. Mark Harris of Travel Intelligence NetworkNext up was Mark Harris of Travel Intelligence Network who provided an insightful Social Media Viewpoint that sparked immediate and continuing discussion and debate, ranging across Marketing Mix and how Social Media is changing it; the use and place of video; social media for internal communications and team morale; the strength of LinkedIn for B2B communications; the importance of quality content; and the growing ability to track response and engagement – and much more!
