Hotel Collection Hotel No. 20 Limited, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has sold Combe Grove Manor Hotel in Bath to Rebecca Whittington and Simon Baldwin who last worked together to create the awarding winning Scarlet Hotel and Spa in Cornwall.
Combe Grove attracted significant interest and sold for in excess of the £4.5 million guide price. The new venture is being backed by a group of local high net worth investors.
The hotel is just over one mile from the centre of Bath and comprises a Grade II listed Georgian country house and outbuildings which offer 42 en-suite bedrooms, a drawing room, library, restaurant, bar and brasserie. Set within 69 acres (30 hectares) of gardens and woodland, it also features a members’ leisure club with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym and fitness suite, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and a 21 bay golf driving range.
Martin Rogers, hotels director at Savills, comments: “We are pleased to have secured the successful disposal of this historic hotel on behalf of our client. It is an established business which also offers its new owners the potential to further develop both the hotel and leisure elements.”
Rebecca Whittington adds: “Combe Grove is a unique and magical place which we hope with care, creativity and investment will become a venue that both locals and visitors will enjoy. We have exciting plans for the whole site and are very much looking forward to the challenge.”
